I have worked in watercolors, acrylics, colored pencil, pencil, ink and chalk. Lately, I've been creating more digital art using mainly Photoshop and DAZ Studio. I like to do fantasy art the most, but I am also inspired by nature and nature-based spirituality. In addition to art, I like to do photography, embroidery, sewing and other crafts. Martial arts is my other primary interest. I have black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Karate. I have red hair and green eyes and have been happily married since 1988. I have one wonderful daughter, who also draws and does martial arts.
I have been an artist all of my life. I began drawing regularly when I was seven years old. I had asthma and there were a lot of times when I was ill and couldn't do anything except sit and draw. I did a lot of reading, too, and that probably influenced my desire to be a writer as well as an artist. Because of my health problems, it has been difficult to work outside of home.
My art is often inspired by my spirituality and connection to nature. In addition to the natural world, I'm also inspired by fantasy, mythology, and tarot cards.
I love the Art Noveau style as well as the historical design styles of the ancient Celts, Norse, Asians, and Egyptians. I've worked hard to come up with a style that reflects these influences yet is unique to me.
While I hope everyone finds something they like in my gallery, my art especially appeals to anyone interested in nature, lovers of fantasy, fans of historical design and people with a good sense of humor! | |
